Acer Iconia Tab A110 North American pricing and availability revealed ($230 bucks will get you Jelly Bean)
With Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, Amazon’s new Kindle Fire lineup, and all the wonders ASUS has to offer in its Transformer series, we sometimes forget that there are other tablet manufacturers out there bringing decent hardware to the table.
To keep its name fresh in your mouth, Acer has officially announced North American availability dates and pricing for its upcoming Iconia Tab A110. Beginning October 30th, we’ll be able to get our hands on this bad boy for a wallet-friendly $230.
As for specs, we’re looking at some rather nice details here. The A110 will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and house NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor with a respectable 1GB of RAM. There’s also a micro HDMI port, so that’s an added plus for users who need connectivity options. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing a full HD display, rather it will run at a 1024×600 resolution.
Another thing I’m sure people will be disappointed with is the internal storage space — there’s only 8GB; however, Acer was kind enough to include a microSD card slot, so you have the option of expanding your space by up to 32GB. (Good lookin’ out Acer!)
If you don’t mind sacrificing display for storage, the A110 won’t necessarily be a bad buy, but with a 32GB Nexus 7 tablet with a rumored $249 price tag on the horizon, I’m not going to put my money on Acer winning the tablet wars anytime soon. Be on the look out at retailers like Best Buy and Amazon at the end of the month, should you decide to add this one to your device repertoire.
