And the Android Community User of the Month Award Goes To…..

To celebrate the first month of OMGDroid’s existence, and kick off a new monthly trend here, we’ve decided to feature one of our truly awesome Android community users each month; we’ll even do an interview with them to share with our readers! After all, what good is a community if the members don’t know each other?

This month’s featured user comes to us from the 305 (Miami, Florida, for those who don’t know). She’s an awesome T-Mobile employee who works with an elite group of 7 front-line T-Mo stars, and gets to work on super cool projects that most of us would give our right hand to be a part of.

+Carms Perez, one of the coolest gals on G+, we salute you! Not only does she have a super cool job, but she has an Android device collection that would make even the most hardcore of techies drool.

We did a nice little 10 question interview with Carms. Keep reading after the break to check it out!

Q -Which Android device(s) do you currently own? If more than one, what is your favorite device?
A - Own myTouch 4G Slide, myTouch 4G, Sensation, and G2X among others but these are my fave! The one I use most often is the myTouch 4G Slide because of it’s awesome specialized 8pmx camera with dual-flash and autozoom!

Q - Which mobile carrier are you a customer of?

A –  T-Mobile

Q – Can you tell us a little bit about your current job?

A – I’m a T-Mobile employee for 7.5 yrs now, love working there! I’m part of a team of 7 frontline employees handpicked by corporate, from the whole country to take part in special projects. We are known as the myTouch ELITE Champions we provide internal support to myTouch Champions throughout the country, as well as support to corporate with customer feedback of our products, among many other exciting things!

Q – What are your top 5 most used Android apps?

A - 

1. Soundhound & Shazam – I’m always looking for the name to my fave songs when I hear them on the radio.
2. Glympse – I like to show people where I’m going and Glympse helps you see my real time arrival, great for meetups and can still be completely private if you want it to be.
3. Foursquare – Makes my friends feel close by and I always get the best tips from friends, competing for badges makes it super fun!
4. Dropbox – Portable memory with all my important stuff cross-platform and accessible anywhere, cannot live without this!! My best friend always drops me music, books, pics! I love this!! You need it! Lol
5. Google+ which is now my new fave network to be on!! +Carms Perez super easy to share everything with the world in real time! I’m soo hooked!

Q – Which device are you currently eyeing to purchase next?

A – I always want the latest and greatest, I currently have all the phones I love – BUT if I had to buy something that’s up and coming, I’m a big fan of HTC’s Sense so most likely it’ll be something from them.

Q – Other than OMGDroid, what are your favorite sources for Android news? (list as many as you’d like)

Q – What is your favorite social networking site?

A – Used to be Facebook, but now Google+ has taken over my heart and I’m in the vortex 24/7! Lol

Q – What are your thoughts on the recent acquisition of Motorola by Google?

A – I’m not entirely WOWed by it, but I’m ok with  it. Motorola used to have amazing looking phones remember the Razr or V70? They were the hottest at that time. When it comes to Android Smarphones they didn’t have the best design or processors so maybe Google just bought them as a legal investment for patents. I wish if anything that Google had bought T-Mobile. Imagine that? I would be blissfully happy forever!

Q – What is one feature you would like to see come to Android?

A – I’d love to see Android come with its own Video calling integrated given now all super phones have a front facing camera. Particularly, I’d love to be able to do a G+ Hangout from Mobile. The world gets smaller every day with video calling, but it’s not being used enough due to poor quality and lack of advertising.

Q – Anything else you would like the community to know about yourself?

A – When I’m not talking about phones, I’m also a pre-med student with a dual degree in Biology & Psychology.

Oh and I think I might be going to the Android BBQ this year in Texas and would love to meet all the Androidians out there!  OMGDroid!!!!! = <3
