Still stuck on Gingerbread and sick of having to hear everyone talk about how sexy Ice Cream Sandwich is? Well, I may not be a miracle worker with a magical Android 4.0 RUU file for every device on the planet, but I did just stumble upon something that you may thank me for over in the Android Apps and Games section over at the XDA Forums.

Feast your eyes on Holo Launcher, an awesome homescreen replacement application that will get you about as close to ICS as you’ll ever get without an official update or a custom ROM based on the latest OS. We also know that Ice Cream Sandwich has only made its way to about 5% of all Android devices, so we’re betting there’s a lot of you out there who will love this one.

Holo Launcher comes to us thanks to XDA Junior Member, mobint. It’s free to try, but please make sure to leave thanks if you download and enjoy his work. Check out the features below:

Holo Launcher is a highly customizable launcher replacement based on the stock ICS 4.0.4 Launcher. But you can run it on Android 2.2+

Features:

  • Full ICS Style
  • ICS Icons, Folders, Outlines, Drawer Tabs, etc.
  • Custom Desktop Pages/Grid
  • Up to 9 desktop pages and 10 x 10 grid.
  • Custom Drawer Portrait/landscape Grid
  • Set different drawer grid for portrait and landscape screen.
  • Scrollable Dock

    How resource hungry is it?

Unfortunately, I have no Gingerbread devices to test this out on and answer that question. Finally got ICS on my Amaze and haven’t looked back, LOL.
