App Review: AppDJ, a simpler way to discover new apps
Apps are the backbone of the Android ecosystem. The Google PlayStore currently houses over 600,000 apps, so, it can be a bit difficult for one to find an app based on their requirement. That’s where AppDJ comes in.
AppDJ is a handly little app which helps you discover cool new apps. Sure, there are other apps, like AppBrain and Best App Finder, that help you do the same, but, AppDJ’s clean and intuitive interface is what separates it from the rest.
AppDJ uses 5 interactive sliders, labelled – Popularity, Trending, Entertainment, Productivity and Lifestyle, to determine what kind of apps you are looking for. This is what it looks like.
You can adjust each slider according to your preference and AppDJ will suggest you new apps based on that. Lets say you’re looking only for Productivity apps – you can adjust the slider as shown below and it will show you apps based on that particular preference. You can then browse through the list and choose the app that interests you.
Once you choose the app that you’re interested in, it’ll show you a few screenshots and also a brief description about the app. You can then press the “Get it” button to proceed to the PlayStore to download/purchase that app. As you can see the process is pretty simple.
AppDJ is not perfect though, one thing that bothered me was that the suggested apps list often had apps which were already installed on my phone. Inspite of that minor shortcoming, I’d definitely suggest this app to everyone who wants to discover new apps.
You can get AppDJ from the PlayStore here.
