CM10 (Jelly Bean) Goodness Debuts on the LG Optimus 4X HD
Who’s excited for CM10? Well, I know a bunch of us here at OMG!Droid are ecstatic. It looks like CyanogenMOD released something that should excite rooted owners everywhere. So, are you ready for the news? Or, do you want us to hold off for a while? Ok, ok. News it is then!
Earlier this week, CyanogenMOD said that they had begun work on their next version of their ROM, which came pretty quickly, following the release of the Jelly Bean code itself. The good news for everyone is that JB is very similar to ICS in so many ways, that CM has noted they wouldn’t have to re-write majority of the code like they did from Gingerbread to ICS. This means we could be getting a JB version very soon possibly and updates would come a lot quicker. Well, we certainly didn’t expect to see a device running CM10 quite yet. But keep reading to find out what we’ve discovered.
We’ve recently seen some pictures (and a video) of the LG Optimus 4X HD running CM10. That’s right. Just days after the JB code was released to the public, there is already a device running this buttery smooth goodness. There hasn’t really been much buzz about the Optimus 4X HD from day one, but you can bet with it being the first device to sport a crispy, shiny new JB CM variant, it’s pretty much the talk of the town right about now. Good way to give the device a bit of exposure.

The image above is a screenshot taken from the LG Optimus 4X HD’s software settings screen showing that it’s 4.1.1. It’s definitely good to see this, as this means CM10 is well under construction and at least far enough along to already be on one device. While it may not be stable enough for mainstream quite yet, you can bet your ass that the devs over at CM are working diligently to get the code to a point where it’s ready for more devices, which means more testers.
You can check out the original posting we did here about CM10 and what was in store to get us to the point of CM10. You can also check out the video below for the actual footage of CM10 running on the device by the developer.
All we ask is that you remain calm, sit tight and know that if your device has CM9 or is capable of running CM9, then the chances of your device your being able to run and getting CM10 are pretty damn great. Unfortunately, you’re just going to have to be a bit more patient.
Still excited ? We can certainly imagine that you are. We’re about to pee our pants in excitement just waiting on one of our devices to get the CM10 greatness!
