Confirmed: Japanese Samsung Galaxy S III will have a whopping 2GB of RAM

If you live in Japan and are considering buying a Samsung Galaxy S III when it is released later this month, we just stumbled upon a juicy little tidbit that will surely spark your interest. We all know the GS3 is going to be a helluva device, but how would you feel if I told you it will have 2GB of RAM, even though it will still be running only a dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip, thanks to LTE compatibility. Would that make you want the phone even more than you already do? Well, that’s exactly what I’m telling you.

According to a report from Phone Arena, Samsung Japan and DoCoMo have confirmed that the Galaxy S III will, in fact, come toting an extra gig of RAM in comparison to the models that will end up landing on North American soil. Furthermore, it looks like the extra oomph of RAM will be exclusive only to Japan — sorry about your luck, rest of the world.

In the near future, I’m sure 2GB of RAM will become a standard in most markets around the world. Unfortunately, now is just not the right time.
