CyanogenMod 10 M2 delayed for inclusion of Android 4.1.2

With the recent release of Android 4.1.2, it looks like the CyanogenMod team has shelved its plans to launch CM10 M2 — the second milestone edition — until the code is completely merged for such a release. This isn’t necessarily bad news though, as the latest version of Android is already available in the latest CM10 nightly builds, and we definitely want our milestone releases to be as ready for primetime as possible.

M2 was originally scheduled for an October 9th release, but considering the latest OS update has a bunch of security-related stuff, Cyanogen and the boys have decided to hold off on releasing for a bit longer.

At the alarming rate at which CyanogenMod’s Jelly Bean branch has already been coming together, and it would surprise me if this merge takes longer than a few days, especially with the team’s trend of staying ahead of the game. We don’t have a certain release date for you just yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we do. Stay tuned.
