Download: Snag the new 4.2 Camera and Gallery app now! (Updated: Working Everything!!!)
Don’t you just love stumbling onto new apps that makes your phone better than anyone else’s? Well I do, and I’m sure most of you do too. Just yesterday Google unveiled their new Nexus lineup which is running an unreleased version of Android — version 4.2. They also posted information about the new features that 4.2 contains.
One of these new features are new Camera and Gallery apps. Just like we were able to provide the new 4.2 keyboard, we’re now able to provide the new 4.2 Camera and Gallery as well. Oh happy day! I’m going to skip retelling what these updated apps contain this time, because I know you guys are ready to download and enjoy.
Before we start, I want to mention that the user who uploaded this app has stated that it is ported to the Galaxy Nexus — we cannot confirm if it only works on that device yet. Also, at this moment ‘PhotoSphere’ force closes, so don’t even try it and obviously you will need root access. After downloading the .apk below, copy/paste (or adb push) the .apk to System/app. Change the permissions to rwrr, then reboot. Do not install. After rebooting you may have 2 camera’s and gallery’s, try the second one first. Enjoy! Photosphere now works, be prepared though when trying, there’s no start button. Just fire it up and go. Also viewing your Photospheres in the mobile gallery causes a FC, if you want to scan throughout the PShere upload the picture to Google+ and view it on desktop. Flash the .zip after installing the camera, or extract the libs and place them in /system/lib. Also here’s a word from the uploader,
“Android Camera Enthusiasts -
If your phone does not have a gyroscope, photosphere will not work. Sorry “
This is a new .zip! Flash it or adb push (or Root Explorer) everything to their corresponding folders, essentially you want this:
GalleryGoogle.apk /system/app (permission rwrr)
GMSCore.apk /system/app/ (permission rwrr)
- libjni_filtershow_filters.so /system/libs
- libjni_mosaic.so /system/libs/
