DrawSomething Losing Users In The Millions Since The Zynga Acquisition

DrawSomething is in the news again, and I’m here to write about it once again. As many of you know, I was highly addicted to this game shortly after it first came out. I had somewhere in the vicinity of 40 games going at one time. I mean, this game was awesome. Then it quickly went to shit. And I mean complete and total shit.

As everyone knows, Zynga paid $210 million to OMGPOP for DrawSomething. At the time, it seemed like a great idea. I mean, we all know Zynga makes some really decent games out there and usually keeps things updated fairly well. We also know that a lot of people totally despise Zynga for who they are and what they do.

Prior to the purchase of DrawSomething by Zynga, we truly felt that the game would get some serious updates and add lots of new things. Such as things to play for such as prizes, more words than the 200+ that are there now and who knows what else. This never happened. So then Zynga comes along and we all feel it’s going to happen for sure with the first update after they sink $210 million into it. Wrong answer again!

The game gained millions of users instantly. However, it seems that those users are up and leaving the game on a very regular basis. I was probably one of the first as I got sick of playing the same words over and over without any kind of new reward. The game quickly became as boring as watching flies fuck. Seriously! In the past month since Zynga purchased the game, it went from a steady 15 million active daily users to an astonishing low amount of only 10 million active daily users. When I do the math, I come up with a drop of 5 million active daily users in just under a months time. And yeah, that’s NOT good at all. At least for Zynga and the game itself anyways.

This really isn’t much a surprise to me to be honest. There has been a couple of updates since Zynga came along, but nothing noteworthy or totally exciting. Certainly nothing worth taking up precious space for such a shitty app. At least not on one of my devices. I would put this damn game on my worst enemies iPhone!
