Droid Razr and Razr Maxx to Get Global Capabilities AND ICS
By now, we all know that Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will arrive on the Razr and Razr Maxx very soon. By very soon, we mean starting today June 22nd for a small group and what we’re thinking will be next week for a broader audience, as outed by Motorola. Now, we know what features ICS includes, but here’s an overview of what Razr users can expect on their phone.
Look for video calling, awesome speech recognition that translates into words WHILE you’re talking, recent apps, quick email responses, folder organization, access of crucial apps through the lock screen, updated browser and the ability to disable pre-loaded apps. Along with this update, you’ll also get a bunch of added camera abilities. You’ll get to capture still shots while recording video, the ability to take screenshots, FaceUnlock, and the ability to take photos using the volume buttons as the shutter button. That’s not all, though. You’ll also get the data usage feature, which allows you to check your data usage and limit it accordingly. This will be useful to you if you travel a lot, because the Razr and Razr Maxx are now Global ready!
Now that ICS is coming to the Razr devices, users will be able to use their smartphones overseas and in new lands. This is useful for those of you that have a Global Data Plan of 100 MB for $25. You can now take your powerful smartphone with you on vacations and not have to worry about data usage, since your ICS device now includes a data usage tab where you can set your data limits.
It looks like those of you that have Razr devices are in for a tasty treat this summer. Don’t forget to check out your devices to see if your update has arrived already!
