First batch of custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs now available for the HTC Amaze 4G

It’s been a busy week for us HTC Amaze 4G owners, hasn’t it? First, we were treated to S-Off and then, we got an official Ice Cream Sandwich leak that absolutely took the phone to a new plateau. Nearly everything about the update is awesome, with the exception of the typical horrible battery life that the Amaze has always suffered from.
Now, here we are a few day later and the first batch of custom ICS ROMs have surfaced over in the XDA Amaze Development Forums, which will hopefully nix the nagging battery issue and provide other enhancements to make our phones even better.
The first two ROM’s to hit the Interwebz come to us from two well-known and respected developers in the community. First up, we’ve got XDA Recognized Developer mike1986. and his Android Revolution HD project — a ROM that has already been ported to a number of different devices and known for being very fast and stable. The discussion thread fro this ROM can be found HERE. This is the ROM I just flashed on my Amaze and I’m loving it so far. I have not had it installed long enough to judge the battery life, so I can’t comment on that yet — I do have my fingers crossed though.
Next up, XDA Senior Mod and Recognized Developer NRGZ28 has released his Energy ROM, another well known project that’s made its rounds around the device forums. I’m sure I will end up giving this one a go at some point as well, I just haven’t made it that far yet. If you’d like to try Energy ROM out, head over to the discussion thread for all the info you’ll need.
If anyone beats me to trying out the Energy ROM, be sure to let me know how you like it. I’m going to run Android Revolution for a few days and then hopefully put together a nice video review for your viewing pleasure. Happy flashing!
