Galaxy Nexus successor coming soon? [Rumors]

Information has swirled up showing the possibility of a Galaxy Nexus Sucessor with a model number GT-i9260. The original Galaxy Nexus having the number GT-i9250 leads us to believe this is the real deal coming down the pipe.

Not too much is known right now about what the new device will have, but some sleuthing done by SamMobile brought the spec sheet below back in August. We can see the 9260 features the same resolution 4.65″ Super AMOLED, however there are some great additions. Specifically the supposed SD slot which would be awesome. According to the spec sheet it shows a slightly upgraded processor at 1.5 GHz, contrary to the “ARM11″ in the User Agent Profile. The ARM11 is of unknown speed or spec, so details are still a bit scarce. An upgraded front and rear camera rounds out the extent of the improvements we know of.

NEWNEXUS

My Opinion? As a current Google Galaxy Nexus owner these “minor” upgrades are not enough to make me want to jump to the rumored new Nexus. With the promise of other Nexus (Nexii plural?) phones in the works from 5 other manufacturers I would like to see what comes of them before I would even consider leaving the current Nexus. Jelly Bean has made it one heck of a phone, while not cutting edge hardware, that will last me for years.

What do you all think? Waiting for new Nexus phones? Will you take the current one or even go with a different phone all together? Let us hear in the comments.

I currently live just north of Philadelphia. I have a huge passion for new technology and follow as much as possible on all new developments. I am a (currently unemployed) laboratory scientist that is filling the time between job interviews and searching with my love of technology and anything science. Feel free to hit me up on chat and even circle me. I do my best to circle folks back who actively engage me in conversation about anything :)

Definitely not enough to make me upgrade. With the Note II around the corner and the recent rumors of S IV and multiple Nexus models coming out, this was not nearly enough of a jump to make the change from a GNex.

A nexus with an sd-card? No, I don’t believe it.

Would this be enough to jump in the market though? I have an iPhone but a Nexus 7 tablet. I want to get an Android handheld. I wanted the S3 but not I am thinking of waiting for the next Nexus. Thoughts?
