Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update goes live in the United Kingdom on Three UK

Our friends across the pond on Three UK with the Samsung Galaxy S III woke up to a nice surprise this morning, in the form of the much-anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update we’ve all longed for so anxiously since it was first announced back in July. This comes on the brink of recent news from Samsung that the US update is in the works, but is slated to arrive “in the coming months”, rather than the October time frame we were all hoping for.
The update weighs in at 285MB and brings you up to Android 4.1.1. If you haven’t already been notified, be sure to mash that “check for system update” button in your “About phone settings” until you get the green light.
With this being the first of the UK carriers to offer the update, we’re hoping the rest will follow closely behind. Our own Anne Brooks is patiently waiting over in Scotland, but her fuse is running short. If she doesn’t get an update soon, we’re all going to feel her wrath.
Three UK subscribers, welcome to the wonderful world of Jelly Bean!
