Google Fiber will light up the Internet for 90% of Kansas City’s neighborhoods

GoogleFiberTV

Lucky residents living in nearly all of Kansas City will soon be privy to the blazing-fast new Google Fiber service. According to the search engine giant, 90 percent of KC’s neighborhoods met the goals to receive the service, with 180 of the 202 neighborhoods hitting their goals in total. Man, I feel sorry for the folks living in those other 22.

Unfortunately, there’s no official list of areas that will get the service when it rolls out, or when it will actually go live, but there is a bit of good news for those who didn’t make the initial cut. If you live in one of the areas that did not reach its goal for this year, there will be another chance to do so next year, so make sure you express your interest and enlist the help of all of your friends, family, and neighbors so you don’t miss out next time.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for details on the exact neighborhoods that will be included when the 1Gbps speeds go live, as well as a date to expect them. Make sure to stay tuned.
