Google Now finally ported to ICS with 100% Voice Search compatibility

If you’ve waited for a bug-free incarnation of Google’s latest search application for Android, there’s no better time than ‘Now’ — all pun intended. Our broskis from AndroidSPIN have been keeping tabs on the project and have discovered that there is now a stable version of the application, ported for ICS devices – good find, David!
XDA Senior member SilentStormer, was the first to begin work on the project, but a whole cast of characters from the Android development community have dabbled with the source and have finally gotten it up and running, without the help of any the janky workarounds. Here’s what SilentStormer shared about the latest update:
The app will use ICS’s voice-to-text engine to get your answer, and then enter it into the Google Now v5 app from before. All you have to do is hit enter and then congrats, you’ve got working voice search!
As always, make sure you make a Nandroid backup, just in case shit hits the fan, but otherwise feel free to head over to the Google Now thread on XDA for the download link and discussion. Make sure to thank the developer, too — without these folks, none of this would ever go down.
Be sure to stop back and let us know how it’s working for you!
