Google Play Store adds Recommended Apps section to help you find interesting new downloads

A small update rolled out to the Google Play Store recently, though it is only an update on Google’s end and will not require you to download a new APK. Now, when you click on the Apps tab, you’re immediately greeted with a new section, called “Recommended for You”, which does exactly what the title implies.
This is not the first time we’ve seen recommended apps on Google Play. There are already sections for “Featured Apps” and “Editors’ Choices” , but the new section aims to give suggestions in a more personal way. The recommendations are based on a number of variables, like which apps you already have downloaded, apps you’re friends on Google+ have +1′d, and apps that are popular with other users who’ve downloaded the same apps as you.
Don’t like one of the suggestions you see? All you have to do is click the X button next to the app and it removes the appĀ from the list and replaces it with a new suggestion, which also helps with predicting future recommendations.
As I mentioned already, you don’t have to do anything to get access to the new section — it should already be there for you. If not, it’s probably still in the process of rolling out, so have patience.
