Google Voice updated, prefetch voicemail and more

Google Voice 2561

Google Voice, the popular Android app that allows you to send and receive free domestic calls and text messages and offers low prices on international calling, updated to version 0.4.2.38 this afternoon. You can now prefetch your voicemail, meaning they can be listened to even when there is no data coverage. This could come in handy for those of you with spotty data coverage and no regular WiFi connection. Also, you can now send text messages to multiple recipients, rather than having to send one message over and over. The app also brings forth improvements for SMS notifications.

If you’re looking for a good alternative to save you some cost on your monthly wireless bill, Google Voice is top-notch. The signup only takes a minute and when you’re done, you’ll have yourself a brand new number. You can use it for business or pleasure — the choice is yours.
