Google Working On Social Gaming App for Android

Google is making plans to introduce to us, a social gaming app, much like Game Center for iOS. Now that Google is happy with the new “Play Store,” they are now set on a social gaming app. The launch date for said app has not been scheduled, but we’re hoping for a mention of it at the 2012 Google I/O.

The rumors have it that the app will have you sign up for the free service, and you will be awarded with trophies and achievement and even leaderboards from games that have integrated the service. If you’ve ever owned an iDevice, you know how Game Center works, and that is most likely how Google’s social gaming app will perform. Google’s challenge is to integrate this system with games already out on the Play Store, and new ones to come. Game developers will need to implement a new API into their apps to make the social gaming app work with their app.

Google is now, in full coverage to take on Apple as top mobile operating system.

I started toying with Android in June of 2010. I got my first android phone on my 14th birthday from my Dad. I rooted it not too long afterwards and started messing with custom ROMs. Not to much longer after that (I’d say end of July, beginning of August) I started making themes. I made a whole series of themes called the midnight series. (http://droidforums.net/forum/davidjr621). I started my own ROM about mid November (which caused me to stop updating the midnight themes). The ROM had one or two releases then I didn’t have time to maintain it, along with my school work and after school activities.
