How to change the appearance of your Nexus 7 softkeys

So, you’ve got yourself a Nexus 7 and you want to hack it like nobody’s business, eh? Well, I just stumbled upon a mod over in the XDA-Developers Forums for the device that you may want to have a look at. Best of all, it’s a simple mod, so you don’t have to be a guru to apply it.
XDA Senior Member, WinDroidGuy, posted a great guide on how to change the look of your tablet’s softkeys. If you own a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, this mod might be familiar to you, as this was a very popular hack for that device. Have a look below for the instructions.
You’ll need custom softkeys, MetaMorph and a Nexus 7, of course.
1. Download MetaMorph and place MIUIBlue SoftKeys in your “sdcard” under AndroidThemes, extract it.
2. Open MetaMorph, go to Pick existing theme, open the MIUIBlue folder
3. Select the MIUIBlue.xml
4. Hit Apply All
5. Wait a few seconds and reboot
It doesn’t get much simpler than that, now does it?
If you’d like to give this a go for yourself, head over to the original thread and download the custom softkey file. Make sure to hit the thanks button and tell ‘em OMG!Droid sent you.
Happy modding!
