HTC Amaze 4G, several other devices finally get S-Off status thanks to Juopunutbear

As an HTC Amaze 4G owner, this news really hits home for me. The quest to achieve the legendary S-Off status has finally come to an end, thanks to XDA Senior Member globatron and the awesome folks from Unlimited.IO who have devised a method of obtaining S-Off and have released the first public beta version of the tool.

The tool, known as Juopunutbear, is Unlimited.IO’s first release and it is a tool for gaining (radio) S-OFF on a number of HTC phones and optionally flashing a custom bootloader that supports full write/erase fastboot commands. JuopunutBear does not provide root access, however with S-OFF this is a simple process of flashing superuser from recovery.

JuopunutBear will permanently unlock NAND flash write protection on all supported devices.

This may not mean much for the average user, but it opens up a world of opportunities for developers that will help them out when making custom ROMs. This is an awesome milestone for these devices; and at this point, we can only wait anxiously to see what the future has in store for them.
