HTC One X now up for pre-order from AT&T for $199 and here’s a nice little drop test video
AT&T customers who have been waiting for the HTC One X to arrive on May 6th can now pre-order the device from Ma Bell’s online store. The device, which is the first from HTC to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, will set you back $199 with a new 2-year plan if you intend on picking one up at launch. If you’d like to snag one without the contract, plan on spending $549 — a pretty reasonable price for one of early-2012′s hottest devices.
If you haven’t already seen the specs, the HTC One X features LTE connectivity, a 4.7 inch HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, Beats Audio, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 16GB of internal memory, and a 1,800 mAh battery.
The guys from HTCPedia did a vicious drop test on the One X to show off the device’s strong and protective build. In the video below, they do three tests. One from waist height with the screen facing up, one from shoulder height with the screen up, and then the grand finale — face down from shoulder height. Impressively, the first two tests do very little (if any) damage to the device. As expected though, that face down drop absolutely shatters the screen. Amazingly enough, the device is still very response even after the drop and with a broken screen. Check it out.
So, what do you think? Will the HTC One X be your next Android smartphone? It looks pretty damn solid to us…
