HTC outs source code for the One V, several other devices [Still no Amaze 4G in sight]

Just a quick note for the development community. HTC has released the official Ice Cream Sandwich kernel source code for the One V and several other devices, including the US variant of the Vivid and several versions of the Sensation. Also released were the Desire HD and myTouch 4G Slide’s Gingerbread (2.3) kernel source.

What does this mean for the typical user? Well, not a whole lot to be honest. But for the development community, this opens up a world of options and will greatly assist in the development of custom ROMs.

Now, what I’d really like to see is HTC get off its ass and release the source code for the Amaze 4G so I can get some Ice Cream Sandwich love of my own. This is your cue, HTC. I’m waiting….
