Is HTC’s 5-inch phablet the next Google Nexus Device?”
Here we go again with the “Rumors and Anonymous Tips”! Rumors are nothing new in the Android Community.
Someone’s grandmas, cousins lovers, best friend of the guy that works down at the local bar tells someone or thought they heard or saw something. In the movies it’s always some old crazy dude that calls in from a pay phone around midnight and says “I got some really important information for you!” “Are you interested?” Then we all suck it up like a bunch of iSheep and rumors are born.
Hell…I think that’s how the Kardashians became famous?” Maybe it was an Anonymous Tip?” ”Who really cares anyways?” Back on the topic.
So over at GSMArena that’s what happened. They had an anonymous tip (it’s always anonymous haha) saying that the next device to replace the infamous Google Nexus would be the HTC 5″ Phablet; also known as the Droid Incredible X or One X 5. I think we need to help them with better names, but that is another story altogether for another day.
GSMArena also states that there’s no way to confirm the validity. This means it’s a rumor and don’t take it seriously, as we will know what it will be when they release it.
So the Anonymous Tipster of course shared some rumored specs. Do you wanna hear them? To bad your going to hear them anyway!
On the Software side of things:
The tipster claims this device will be rocking on Android 4.1.2 with Project Butter improvements and all the bug fixings you can eat! Some extra lock screen functionality as well as some minor tweaks. They always say “Minor Tweaks” I hate that. Does anyone really know what they are or if they truly exist?
However, Google is is known to launch new versions of Android with it’s new product announcements. So getting a new version of Jelly Bean with the Nexus 5 would makes sense and be cool.
On the hardware side of things:
The Tipster clams the Google Nexus 5 will come with a 1080p display, a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, and a 12Mp main camera with a 2Mp front-facing camera. Throw in a super slim design a 2,500mAh battery, 64GB of internal memory with LTE connectivity and we’ve got ourselves a wet dream machine. We don’t even know with certainty if it will be an HTC device. It could be from all of our favorite manufacturers.
You never know with rumors until you see them all come to light. I think that’s it for now but look for more insane ramblings and rants from me really soon.
