Is Samsung announcing a new tablet alongside the Galaxy S III on May 3rd?

Boy, oh boy — May 3rd is starting to look like one of the biggest days of 2012 for mobile devices. We’ve already heard that there’s a huge event going down on that day in London, at which Samsung is supposedly going to unveil the newest most-talked-about Android device, the Galaxy S III. Of course, there’s also been talk that this will be the same venue at which Sammy’s S-Cloud cloud storage service will be unveiled.

Now, CNET Asia is reporting that there might also be one more big announcement for the show, which will come in the form of a new Galaxy tablet.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the Korean chaebol will be lining up a new 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab to complement the handset launch. The tablet will apparently be running a dual-core processor, and will not be the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (that is supposedly getting a quad-core upgrade).

So, if it’s not the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, then what the hell is it? Your guess is as good as ours. The only thing we know for sure is that May 3rd is right around the corner and we’ll be tuning in with the rest of the world to see what Samsung has in store for us. Stay tuned.
