ISIS soon to be available, well only for the elite

We first started talking about ISIS, the Google Wallet alternative, months ago, but since then we’ve heard only a few minimal updates regarding the service. They were still working hard though, especially with this newest update. Apparently they have delay the test launch of their service, due to changing the way their payment/purchase process works; instead of having carriers process payments they will leave it up to the credit card companies.

We do have a list of devices that shall be supported with ISIS, when ISIS starts testing their service at the end of the month, here they are:

Verizon:

  • DROID Incredible 4G LTE
  • Samsung Galaxy S3

AT&T:

  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • HTC One X

T-Mobile:

  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Samsung Galaxy S2

That seems like a pretty random list, maybe I just want the Galaxy Nexus to be included since it’s my daily driver, but to have the Note not included either seeing as it does has a NFC chip. Now we just need ISIS to start their testing so they can start rolling out support for the whole country, and we can see if this is really a better alternative than Wallet.

If you’re still kinda unsure of how ISIS will perform, as I was, I think the image below will help. According to the picture you will be able to pre-order merchandise for ISIS enabled store, so that merchants can begin to prepare your order (I’m guessing), use special loyalty cards for discounts and other gifts, and also (of course) pay for you order, all from your phone.

With over $100 million dollars in backing and support from 3 out of the Big 4, ISIS should definitely be a force to be reckoned with should it ever release. Are you looking forward to this new service?
