Jelly Bean Keyboard Lands in Google Play Store for Free; Works on any ICS Device

Well hoody freakin’ hoo. If this isn’t an awesome find, I don’t know what is. For those of you looking to get a taste of Jelly Bean without actually getting the update itself, I suggest you listen up. The good folks from Beansoft have managed to port the keyboard from Android 4.1 to any device running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.3) or better. Unfortunately, it looks like there’s still a bug or two that need to be worked out, as the User Dictionary does not work in ICS — if you try to add words, you’ll get smacked in the mouth with a big fat force close.

The good news is, this one is available for free to anyone who would like to try it out. If you fall into that category, hit the link below. (Just don’t hit it too hard — we don’t want to go breaking things, now do we?)

I believe the app got removed from the store (Google Play link broken and website points to a broken link, too).

It did get removed, but only temporarily. Let me know if you need an APK.

Is there a major difference between that and the ICS keyboard? I have installed ICS Keyboard from the store and at face value, Jelly Bean’s looks identical.

Mainly just responsiveness. It seems to handle my rapid typing quite well.
