Korea can now download, play games from the Android Market

If you live in Korea, and you’ve felt a little left out when it comes to all the awesome games in the Android Market, we’ve got a bit of news that’s sure to brighten up your day. Starting now, Korean Android users have access to one of the best categories the Market has to offer. That’s right, folks! You can now browse through the many thousands of popular game titles available and download them directly on your device. Even more exciting is the direct carrier billing support, which lets users conveniently charge any game purchases to their monthly operator bills. I’d imagine sales numbers will see a hefty incline over the coming weeks, with this wonderful news I’m sure droves of people have been anxiously awaiting.

Korea, welcome to gaming — Android style

By the way, if you are an Android game developer, don’t forget to localize your game resources, app descriptions, and marketing assets to take advantage of this new opportunity. When you’ve had a chance to prepare everything for Korean consumption, make sure to visit the Android Market developer console and take the proper measures.

So, head on over to the Android Market, my Korean brothers and sisters, and let the games begin. Or as you would say, 게임을 시작하자 — hopefully Google translated that right!
