LG and Google to release next Nexus device with Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie on board?

With “Google Season” upon us, we are all waiting impatiently to know just what will be introduced later this month. OMG!Droid has learned that LG will, in fact, be producing a Nexus phone. This could be beneficial for LG, which has had trouble finding itself in the Android landscape.
The phone will be based on the Optimus G, and alleged have the famed Qualcomm SnapDragon quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, a 1,280×768 HD IPS Display, and 8MP Camera. The downer may be a non-removable battery, and 8-16GB of internal storage with no expansion slot. Word also has it that the LG Nexus will come running Android 4.2 (we’ll be posting info on that shortly), so that’s another huge plus.
This comes on the heels of news that Google may be allowing other manufacturers to release Nexus devices at the same time. Google has never been proprietary about it’s Nexus platform, with HTC creating the Nexus One, Samsung creating the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus, and ASUS is coming in strong with the Nexus 7. A Nexus phone could put LG in the big water with the big fish…but do they deserve to be there?
