LG Google TV Sets Finally Hitting US Retail Shelves Later This Month; Pre-Orders Now Being Taken

It’s been quite some time now since Vegas and the insane tech show known as CES, when LG teased the world with talk (and show) of a pair of new Google TV-powered LED models that would soon be available in the United States. Well, the time is almost here, and you can even place a pre-order for either the 47-inch 47G2 model ($1,599) or the 55-inch 55G2 model ($2,099) from Amazon. Reuters has reported that LG exec Ro Seogho vows the TVs will start shipping to the US in about two weeks, on May 21st.
Now, if only I had an extra two grand to dump on yet another screen to feed my tech addiction. I have a feeling if I did and I spent it on one of these televisions, my next post would be written from somewhere with a public WiFi connection because my wife would certainly kick my ass to the curb. What about you though? Does your living room have space and your wallet have enough dough to make one of these monsters a new addition to your family?
