Mod: Google Nexus 7 gets 720p video recording
If you’re rocking a Nexus 7, you were probably disappointed to find out that the device’s camera did not allow for recording 720p videos out of the box. The funny thing is, even though it doesn’t allow for it by default, that doesn’t mean that it cannot be done. XDA Recognized Developer hillbeast put together a nice little guide to prove this point.
Installing this mod is simple, as long as you’re comfortable editing your media_profiles.xml file. “To make this work, you need to modify /system/etc/media_profiles.xml, or if you are editing the source files for an AOSP build, you want to edit android/device/asus/grouper/media_profiles.xml, and you’ll need a Camera.apk (A good one to use is this as you don’t need to install it to /system/apps).”
