Netflix for Android phones finally gets a much needed UI update

NetFlix
If you are a Netflix subscriber and use the service to watch TV shows and movies on your Android phone, an update to the app was released today that is aimed directly at you.

A new back-end update rolled out for the app, and it brings along with it the UI change we’ve all waited and hoped to see. No longer are we stuck with that old, boring interface – now the app looks more like the tablet version, with more titles appearing on the screen and a nice scrolling UI.

In the top-left corner on the main screen, there’s a menu button that lets you search through different genres. On the top-right side, there’s a search button. Still on the main screen, we see a “Top 10″ section, a “Popular on Neflix” section, the “Instant Queue”, all the “Suggested Titles” sections, and the “New Releases” can be found by scrolling all the way to the bottom.

All in all, this is a welcomed addition to a service I’m not sure I’ll be subscribing too much longer. The selection has never been all that desirable to me, and it’s been about two months since the last time I even logged into my account, until today to check out the update.

If you already have Netflix installed, you don’t have to do anything. As I mentioned before, this is a back-end update, so you won’t have to download a new version. If you need a link to the app, there’s one below.

Let us know what you think of the new looks!
