It’s not all about the software – Nexus 7 Controller Mount

FC4C4B8H6I6WADG.SQUARE3Sometimes you just want to play with your Nexus 7 and have a little lot of fun. Some clever gamer over at Instructables has figured out how to mount his XBox 360 controller  to his Nexus 7 to play Dead Trigger.

You’ll need:

  • Nexus 7 Tablet – $200
  • PS3 / Xbox controller – $50

For the Mount

  • 1/8″ dia x 48″ Mild Steel Rod -$3 (OR 1/8″ dia x 48″ Copper Rod)
  • 48″ of 1/8″ MDPC Expandable Tubing – Comes in packs of 20′ rolls for $7
This is the stuff that people use to manage cables inside of computers. But you want to have a flexible tube that won’t scratch your device.
  • 1/8″ Heat Shrink Tubing – $2
For some grippy stuff and to clean up the ends.

Tools:

  • A big vice
  • bending tools
  • measuring tape

Mom, computer geek, photography nut, Android evangelist/devotee, Googlephile, web technology and social media fanatic. Default tech support for all family members across three states -- even for my teenage son who prefers to be a gamer instead of a computer geek. I still have to get the parts for his systems though. Easily distracted. Credentials: 15+ in the web technology industry, self-confessed photography and gadget geek. Not a gamer though, I leave that up to my son. Gift cards to Fry’s make me happy.
