Official CM9 Nightly Builds Begin Rolling Out for the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and T989

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket

It wasn’t but yesterday we brought you the exciting news that the CyanogenMOD team had officially begun a code freeze for the world-renown CM9 custom ROM project, and here we are again with another exciting update.

AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (i727) and T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II (T989 aka Hercules) both began their nightly build life cycle yesterday, thanks in large part to the hard working developers on the CM team and Samsung’s recent code drop.

For those of you who like to walk on the wild side and don’t mind running a less-than-perfect operating system on your device, you can head over to the device pages for the Skyrocket and Hercules to pick up the latest nightly build.

While, these builds are official CM business, we always like to remind our readers to take the proper precautions when flashing any new ROM. Be sure to make a backup, read all the directions carefully and don’t blame us for any voided warranties, broken devices or lost luggage.

Once you’ve got CM9 installed, be sure to stop back and let us know what you think of all the Ice Cream Sandwich goodness you’ve treated yourself too.

Happy flashing!
