Pinterest Possibly Coming To Android This Week During Google I/O?

Pinterest is a fairly new type of social network that allows you “pin” things you like and share with others. While it’s not my cup of tea, a lot of people seem to like it and enjoy it. It’s a growing community that doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon. So now it seems that the time has possibly come for all of you Pinterest fans who have an Android device. We are likely to see the launch of the Android app this week at Google I/O.

The Pinterest developers have stated that an app has been in the works for a little while now and also stated that as they got nearer to a completion of it that they would share more information with us. And as you can see by the screenshot below, which states: Now available for Android, it seems they are possibly sharing something with us.

Please note that it’s not actually available yet. At least not where I can find it as I’ve searched Google, Google Play Store and have come up with nothing at this point. But because Pinterest is an exhibitor at this years Google I/O it’s pretty likely we will see the launch occur during that time. Google I/O runs from June 27th, 2012 to June 29th, 2012. That’s right, it starts this Wednesday in fact. So who knows, maybe all of you Pinterest fans will see the app come to the Google Play Store later this week.

Also of important note is the two names shown in the screenshot who are listed as exhibitors are actually developers who are working on the Android version of the app. Surely they will have some news of interest for us during their exhibit and speech that they give during Google I/O.

Let us know below what you think of Pinterest and how you feel about it coming to Android. Is this something you use currently on the web and will you be using this app on your Android device once it’s released ?
