[Product Review] Ram Mount Tab-Tite for the Motorola XOOM: In Car Tablet Mount

Thanks to our friends over at Ram Mount OMG!Droid was provided a Tab-Tite Holder for the Motorola Xoom, as well as the suction cup twist-lock base and the adjustable arm. Ram did a very good job with packaging the material. Each piece was separate, as well as the screws needed to put it together. The tablet holder itself is made of a high-strength composite and the adjustable double socket arm is made of a high-grade aluminum.

The Tab-Tite holder was very easy to assemble and required 8 very small screws and a hand-held screwdriver to put it together. The adjustable arm will need to be attached to the tablet holder with the provided screws (They give you 3 sizes based on the tablet holder you purchase) and the nuts.

The twist-lock suction cup is to be attached to the other end of the adjustable arm with the two provided screws and should only be hand tightened. I found that if I suctioned it down and then loosened the adjustable arm I did not have to worry about the suction base sliding around on me.

Installation into the car is as simple as finding the right place to put it so that you can still use the tablet if you need to and not have it obstruct your view while driving. In my case you can see that I was able to position it right over the radio.

After driving around with it for the last few days, I was very impressed that the adjustable arm held up against the bumps, there was very little if any shift at all. I also found the suction cup to be very strong and hold up in the heat, this is very important as we have a 10” tablet being held up and I would hate for it to come loose and smash down on the shifter (we have all had a suction cup holder let go in the heat). The Tab-Tite holder has access for the power button as well as the ports for charging and HDMI on the bottom.

Interested in getting your tablet mounted? Head over to RamMount.com and pick one up, the Tab-Tite can be found here and has a low cost for everyone of $25.80, the suction mount that I am using is $30.00 and can be found here. Take a look around, even if you don’t have a Xoom; they carry something for everyone.

Thanks again to our friends over at Ram Mount.com.

I have been a Droid addict since I got my first OG Droid (Motorola A855), it took me about 3 months to root and I was hooked. I now have multiple devices and each one of them supplies me with my daily dose of Android love. Outside of Android I also love reef aquariums and I am a workaholic to support my family and three beautiful girls and would do anything for them and love that they are always interested in daddy's Android toys.
