Rockstar Games to release Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for Android this fall

It’s been 10 long years since we saw this title’s initial launch, and to celebrate, Rockstar Games announced its plans today to bring Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to select Android devices “later this fall”.

On top of that, they’re also planning to release a ton of other goodies in honor of the unprecedented title, which absolutely deserves a place in the Video Game Hall of Fame – which, according to IGN’s criteria, GTA:VC is just about eligible (to be considered, a game must have been out for at least 10 years at the time of induction). Here’s what to expect:

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, there will be a series of commemorative assets released, including never-before-seen artwork and a brand new anniversary trailer highlighting some of the most iconic scenes and music from the game.  In addition, a limited run of collectable promotional items will be made available for purchase through the Rockstar Warehouse, with select items also available via online giveaways.

The upcoming release is said to bring the “full experience to mobile devices, featuring native high-resolution graphics and several enhancements unique to the Android OS. If it’s anywhere near as fun as Grand Theft Auto III (which I’m sure it will be), I’ll be getting this one the second it’s released.

Stay tuned. We’ll be sure to let you know when it drops and which devices it’s compatible with.
