Rovio Has a New Cash Cow, Makes You Relive Your Youth and Anger Issues

Rovio knows one thing very well, and that’s making a ton of money from games that we can’t ever put down.  The Angry Birds franchise has brought them millions, and has cost consumers just as many millions from profanity laced tantrums and airborne phones.  Phones are not meant to fly, or to bounce gracefully off a wall.  Numerous times.  Just one hour of Angry Birds is possibly the best reason you’ll ever have to buy an Otterbox.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for a new nightmare in gaming and physics.  Rovio today posted up a video for their newest creation, Amazing Alex.  Alex is like most of as kids, he likes to build stuff.  Remember when we would take a box of dominoes and stand them up, add in a few off other items, and see if we could all make them tumble down in order?  Yeah, I hated that as a kid.  My dominoes would either stop half way down because I gapped them too much, or the other random stuff I had in line was too heavy to topple.  There was never a complete domino set in my house because I would get mad and throw half of them.

This is Amazing Alex, one huge physics-based puzzle game.  You can play through hundreds of in-game levels, or create and share your own.   Just watching this launch trailer makes me hate Rovio even more than I did already, and pray I don’t break my phone because I know I’ll be addicted.  Amazing Alex launches for Android on July 12, 2012.  Time to call my doctor for anger management medication.
