Rumor: Revamped Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 coming your way this August?

Samsung representatives recently sent out a “Save the day” email for a Galaxy event to held on the 15th of August, in the United States. The email said that Samsung would be launching its next Galaxy device on that day. Rumor has it Samsung might re-announce and finally launch its much awaited Galaxy Note 10.1 “GT N-8000″ at that event.
The GT N-8000 was first announced earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. Samsung hasn’t really divulged any more details about its availability since its introduction way back in February.
It was announced with a “lack-luster” 1.4 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 SOC (dual-core is just so 2011) and a “measly” 1 GB of RAM, but now apparently Samsung has changed the innards of this device to a decent 1.4 GHz Exynos quad-core SOC and 2 GB of RAM. Samsung has also upgraded the rear camera form 3 MP to 5 MP.
Other specs of the device include – a 10.1 inch WXGA (1280 x 800) display panel, a 2 MP front facing camera, 7000 mAh battery, the S-Pen and the run-of-the-mill Wifi, HSPA+, Bluetooth connectivity options.
The device also is said to have call and SMS capabilities.
We will soon find out, straight from the horse’s mouth, if all of the above is true. Till then, stay tuned.
