Samsung can make cheap phones too: Say hello to the Jasper
After the Galaxy S III, you may be wondering what Samsung is planning to do to provide for all those who didn’t have the extra cash, or didn’t like the design, or some other various excuse for not picking up Sammy’s latest flagship devices. Well I introduce to all of you, Le “Jasper”.
The Jasper is their mid-range Galaxy device for the year. With a quick spec list consisting of:
- Dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon MSM8960 processor
- 800 x 480 display
- Android 4.0 ICS
- Capacitive buttons
- Verizon 4G LTE
This phone isn’t going to (and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to) “Wow!” anyone. And what’s with the capacitive buttons Samsung? Take a hint from Motorola and Google, on in-screen is the way to go.
For anyone who doesn’t want to spend the big bucks on some of the heavier-hitter smartphones from this year, take a look at the Jasper. I suspect a sub-$100 price tag, but no details are available yet regarding the price, or the release date. We’ll be sure to let you know when they are.
Ciao!
