Samsung Flexible AMOLED coming to a Phone near you in 2012

If you remember back in September we reported on Samsung planning on releasing Future devices with a flexible screen. Well it appears Samsung plans to release Flexible phone screens on phones as early as 2012, and expanding to tablets and other handheld devices after that. Samsung wants to continue to expand on the success of the Galaxy S II, which has now sold over ten million in just five short months. This all came to light during a Q3 2011 Samsung earnings call and makes one wonder how it will turn out and what the purpose will be. 

The flexible display, we are looking to introduce sometime in 2012, hopefully the earlier part, said Samsung spokesman Robert Yi

I am interested to see if they have a useful purpose to the flexible display or if its simply going to be a gimmick feature.  Are you excited for flexible AMOLED displays on your next Android phone?
