Samsung Galaxy S III First Official Firmware Already Available via OTA or Kies Updater

Bravo, Samsung. It’s always awesome to see a manufacturer take quick measure in updating one of its devices, especially one as popular as Sammy’s new flagship phone, the Galaxy S III. The first official update has pushed out through Kies, as well as over-the-air, for the unlocked UK version of the phone. Apparently, you may want to skip trying to grab the OTA though, as we’ve heard that it isn’t showing up for some users, while others have been able to grab it with no problem.

The firmware update is still Android 4.0.4 and includes new radios and a new kernel, as well as stability improvements — everybody needs a little bit of stability in their lives, don’t they?

For all you Brits across the pond, go ahead and grab your update now, as it should already be available. Users in other locales will begin receiving the update in the coming days, so make sure to check back frequently and let us know as soon as it arrives for you.

All this SGSIII buzz has me super stoked for next week’s T-Mobile launch of the device. I haven’t gotten a new phone in a while now, and I’ve never owned a Samsung device before, so I’m really excited for the next chapter in my Android book.
