Samsung Galaxy SIII launch being delayed at Verizon until July 12th

Verizon customers might be just a little upset about this news that I’m about to bring to you, and for that, I’m extremely sorry. It seems that Big Red has stated that the launch of the most hyped-up Android device of the year is being delayed by 2 days. Originally due to launch in stores on July 10th, it’s now been pushed back until July 12th.

While there is no reason given by Verizon themselves as to why the date has been changed, we can only assume it’s the inventory restraints due to the massive amounts of people who pre-ordered this device. We all know this is the “must have” device right now. I tend to agree from what I hear from our very own Tony Simons who did everything just short of selling his first born on the black market to get one of these beasts within the first 48 hours they were available a few weeks ago.

While 48 hours isn’t very long of a wait at all in my opinion, I’m sure there are going to be some very unhappy Verizon customers who have been dying and waiting very impatiently for this device to arrive with their carrier. Honestly, I’d be a little upset too. When I want something, I want it NOW, and I’m sure all of us Android geeks are the same way. Unfortunately the only thing I can tell you at this very moment is to hang in there and be patient just a couple of extra days and you too will have the device of the year.

The good news is if you pre-ordered your device through Verizon, those don’t seem to be affected at all from what we’ve seen, read and been told up to this point. And of course you know if we get word on the streets that they are, OMG!Droid will be the first to bring you that news (as much as we’d hate to burst your bubble for the day.)
