So what are your thoughts on that tiny thing called the iPhone 5?

think android

Yeah today was a big day for the iSheep (as Samsung calls them). The phone they’ve waited for almost a year for is finally announced. It’ll be available for pre-order this Friday. But hey it only took them 5 phones to increase the screen size.

So this is your chance to comment to your heart’s delight. But please guys keep it respectful.

No innovation, Android are clearly ahead – yay! They have totally copied a lot of features, time for them to get a taste of their own medicine – get suing!

  • B2point1

    Baaaaaaaa

  • Jose Olivieri

Don’t see anything new and “innovated” than whats already out in the market. Same or lower specs compare to many android devices, and as usual, overpriced!

    • Glenn Caldwell

Agreed. I look at it as a Samsung galaxy S2.5 competitor :)

      • itsalexaye90

        Are you sure it’s even a S2.5? I’m thinking Galaxy S1.5

        • Jay T

Look at it this way: In OS its a galaxy 1.5, and in hardware its a galaxy 2.5, minus all the cool android features like NFC.

  • itsalexaye90

Anyone amazed by that 4″ display? What about that blazing fast LTE? *troll alert8

    • henreeG

it took them years- and they’re still behind.

  • Barkley Fan

Wonder what would happen if they invested as many resources in innovation as they invest in litigation?

Just as Obecity in the States will increase so will the size of the iPhone!

    neither SAMSUNG nor iPHONE
    i LOVE NOKIA

Apple is likely sue happy because they recognize their products are becoming inferior against their competitor’s products. I mean…in the end, once Google’s glasses take off and hopefully later their conceptualized gloves to go with it will likely kill the smart phone industry altogether…how long until that happens? Who knows, but it’s inevitable. I’m sure by then Apple’s reputation will be so bad there is no way they’ll legally get away with copying Google’s innovations. Apple need to adapt and pay for the technology or lay down and die

  • Kennypr101

I don’t know if anyone understands this but just because there was one screen size change does make a trend

  • Kennypr101

I’m an avid android fan but I’m also realistic and know that yalls arguments are retarded I have an HTC one x and my iPhone 4s they both have their pitfalls but one thing that apple has that android doesn’t is apples iPhone is a product the android is a software that depending on the phone can be great. But as of right now apple owns the phone industry with the biggest market share. The new iPhone 5 specs are impressive but you can’t joke on their size when you got the galaxy note out there and a typical android phone screen size is about 4.7 inches

    • henreeG

Speaking of size… not everyone has tiny hands for the iPhone.
Androids are made for the big and small. iPhones are made for the conformists.

These are some of the most ignorant comments I have ever read. And looking at the picture don’t you guys find it funny that the current Samsung phones look more like the iPhone than they use to so who is really behind? And you guys want Apple to change the looks of the iPhone for the sake of change? Thats ignorant. What needs to change about the hardware? Nothing…it’s just fine the way it is. It’s the perfect size for easy one handed use. It’s not lacking in function at all as far as the hardware goes. And iOS is a perfectly fine OS. It’s the usability and Eco-system that counts and Apple (and Amazon) have that perfected. So go ahead and make fun of Apple products while I actually use my iPhone as a smartphone should be used.. Oh, and Apple will laugh all the way to the bank since they make the majority of the profits.

my samsung galaxy nexus looks nothing like an iphone.

I’m fairly sure there’s government welfare subsidies for people who can’t make the simple distinction.

Describe to me the steps you take to share a url from the iPhone browser to something like facebook or google+

In icecream sandwich and jellybean this is :
      1. click program menu button,
      2. select share
      3. choose social network
      4. done.

      on iphones its:
      1. highlight URL
      2. copy
      3. switch to desktop/home screen
      4. load up social network program
      5. login to social network program
      6. navigate to the appropriate share interface
      7. paste text
      8. click share.

      • Rex

Heh, sharing has worked that way on Android since at least Froyo (2.2) !!

    • itsalexaye90

My Galaxy S3 looks nothing like the iPhone either, you need to step out of the herd of sheep and look around.

    • henreeG

**I went to Best Buy to get an iPhone and bought the Galaxy S 3 because I got confused. I thought it was the iPhone.**
You either have to be visually impaired- or stupid to say that Samsung phones look like iPhones.

  • memuser

Also, the Android OEMs have to change their looks. The hardware is all they have. Actually, they have to compete with not only other Android phone makers but the iPhone. They have to change their looks to make them stand out in the crowded Android market so people will notice them.

I found the announcement wholly underwhelming. That being said, however, I decry the device as terrible as so many Android and Windows Phone users are doing. The iPhone, like it or hate it, is a genuinely good smartphone with an expansive ecosystem and a stable OS. There’s no shame in owning an iPhone. On the other hand, it is clear that Apple is no longer the primary innovator in the smartphone market, a real shame when one considers how much of a game changer the original iPhone was. When I saw the iPhone 4S announced people talked of the upcoming iPhone 5 being “Jobs’ legacy device.” I cannot say that the new model lives up to that moniker.

With companies such as Samsung, HTC and even Nokia pushing the limits of what a phone-sized device can do (and coming out with some rather spectacular devices) the iPhone 5 feels wrong in today’s market. It’s too small and underpowered to be worth the price that Apple charges for its devices. Moreover, the change is not sufficient and it’s not a change that I would pay for if I’d forked over the money for an iPhone 4S. This is not everyone’s opinion, of course, but I was personally very disappointed with Apple on this one.

My phone comes from a totally different electronics manufacturer than your phone! I’m a total individual, not like those sheep who own those other phones! Want to really not be a sheep? Stop hanging your identity on your consumer products — that goes for Android fans too.
