Songkick Concerts Finally Arrives for Android, Puts 100,000 Concerts in Your Pocket

As a die-hard concertgoer and constant Internet news troll, I’m quite surprised to find out I’ve been sleeping on this one, but I’m happy just the same to have finally found out about it. Songkick Concerts, a music startup which tracks your favorite bands and tells you when they are playing a show nearby, has finally released its Android application on Google Play.

The app has a really amazing concept: it scans you device’s music library, your Google Music account, or your Last.fm app and builds a personalized concert calendar base that will notify you when one of your favorite acts is in town. Songkick also tracks the artists you’ve liked on Facebook and Pandora, as well. This is down right nifty, if you ask me.

If that wasn’t enough, you can even snag tickets to the show, directly through the app. Word has it, Songkick is burning up the competition, being the #2 source of tickets, under the infamous Ticketmaster, which coincidentally also released its own app just recently.
