Sprint’s LTE Network is now Active in all but one of it’s Launch Markets

We’ve been reporting that Sprint will be launching it’s 4G LTE service in a few markets starting no later than July 15th. Well, that happens to be tomorrow. And we’ve gotten word from several sources that users in most of the markets that were announced are already getting their new 4G LTE service on the 4G capable devices.

Unfortunately we all know Sprint is the last of the 3 big boys to launch their 4G LTE service. We certainly do feel sorry for all Sprint users with regards to this. However, the roll out has begun. And as stated previously, 4G LTE is due to launch in Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Kansas City and Atlanta. While that’s only 6 markets, those markets happen to have a LOT of people. There’s only about 36 hours left until the deadline is over. Good news is, people in the Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Austin and Kansas City markets are reporting speed increases on their devices as early as yesterday. The reports state…We’re seeing some new little 4G icon in our status bars that we’ve never seen before. Trust me folks, that’s a good thing!

For unknown reasons, the switch that controls Atlanta from within Sprint’s headquarters seems to have been forgotten. At least for the moment. Or maybe the janitor accidentally flipped it back off when it originally got flipped due to thinking it was for the heating unit or something. Regardless, there’s still time left before the deadline and we are certainly hoping that the great folks over in Atlanta will get the gift of speed before the end of the weekend as promised.

You live in the Atlanta area ? I live close, about an hour away, but I also don’t have Sprint so I have no way of testing to see if it’s been lit up yet. If you live in the area, let us know if you’re getting increased speed love from the Sprint folks. They say it could be starting pretty much any minute now. Happy 4G’ing everyone!
