TiVo app gets a fresh face with gesture controls and more!

TiVo, the home DVR setup for recording your favorite cable shows and accessing a variety of web based services including Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora, YouTube and more,  has just released an update to their android app that now allows for a more thorough manipulation of the device and increased enjoyment of the service itself!

The new app has two types of controls for making TiVo do your bidding.  First is a replica of the standard remote that comes with your unit, and second is an easy to learn set of gesture controls to get your unit fast forwarding through commercials or pausing while you grab a bite.  Also included in the app is the ability to search for the shows you want to watch for the next two weeks, schedule recordings, manage content using touch manipulation, find out what else that movie star was in , learn the names of all the actors in the show your watching and more.

And all of this is accomplished without ever interrupting whatever content that’s playing. That means no more sitting in a room while someone else is using the controller to setup recordings or browse whats coming on.  Just hand them your trusty android device and let them go to town while you enjoy blissful whatever you like on the big screen.
