Un-Bricking Guide Released for US Samsung Galaxy S III Variants

the un brickWhile, Android development has definitely come leaps and bounds over the past few years, there is always the potential of running into trouble when toying around with your device’s innards. For those of you who have ever bricked your phone, you know exactly what I mean when I say it can be a real heart-stopper when something goes wrong.

While, I’ll admit, I haven’t bricked a phone in quite some time now, I still always go into each new device rooting with the underlying fear that something may go wrong. In fact, I typically will wait until there is a surefire means of recovering my phone before I even consider rooting.

Luckily, US Samsung Galaxy S III owners can breathe a collective sigh of relief, as XDA Senior Moderator and Recognized Developer mskip has released a solution for users who accidentally soft bricked their devices trying to flash a GSM boot image. The devices are still fresh off of the press, so there’s still a question of what works and what doesn’t, and flashing a GSM boot image is apparently one of those things that doesn’t work.

If you’ve ran into this unfortunate incident, take a deep breath, relax for a second and then head over to the appropriate thread below to get your device back up and running.

Be sure to let us know once you’ve revived your device from the dead.
