Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III update rolling out, no Jelly Bean in sight

If you’re a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III owner, you might want to check your system settings, as a new updated build is rolling out as we speak. But, before you go all batshit crazy on us, it’s not Jelly Bean. Sorry to burst your bubble here, but it’s still Android 4.0.4. The update is rather small in size, weighing in at only 62MB, and is labeled IMM76D.I535VRALHE.
From a look at the official update changelog, there doesn’t look to me much here, other than performance enhancements, reduced random device reboots, and a newly enhanced zooming feature has been added to the user interface for Web browsing, reading emails and more.
This is an official firmware, so it’s incompatible with rooted devices and/or devices running custom recoveries. If you’ve absolutely got to have the latest version, you can always Odin back to stock, or give the devs a while to pick the file apart and toss up a rooted flashable zip file in your favorite forums. We’ll keep an eye out and update this post once we spot one.
Go ahead and check your System settings > About phone > Check for update to see if there’s anything waiting for you. Once you’ve gotten it installed, be sure to stop back and let us know how it’s treating you.
