Video: A T-Mobile G1 running Jelly Bean smiles for the camera

Ah, the good old T-Mobile G1 — the device on which it all started and, personally speaking, my first Android phone. If you thought this thing was dead by now, you thought wrong, and this video is a solid reminder of why HTC used to be the number one contender in the game.

Spotted by our buddy Chris, from Phandroid (man, that guy finds some good stuff sometimes), this video shows the legacy device running none other than the latest flavor of Android, Jelly Bean, thanks to the hard work and hackery of the Android development community.

The 1.5-minute clip shows the G1 rocking a far-from-stable build of our favorite custom ROM series, CyanogenMod 10. Of course, this will probably never make it to daily driver status, but for a quick trip down memory lane and a look at something you thought you’d never see, check out the video below.

Now, try running the latest version of iOS on the original iPhone. Lemme know how that works out for ya, mmmkay?
