Virgin Mobile Announces The LG Optimus Elite, Their First NFC Equipped Device
Virgin Mobile USA has just announced their first Android device to come with NFC support as well as Google Wallet. It’s an LG device named Optimus Elite. No, not Optimus Prime for all of you Transformers fans out there. Read it again with me, slowly….Optimus Elite!
As many of you know, and for those of you who don’t know, Virgin Mobile is a contract free carrier that offers unlimited data and text messaging for only $30 per month. Not a bad deal really if you ask me for those who don’t want to be on a contract. And now with them offering this device at the decent price of only $149.99, they are sure to get some new customers heading their way once the device hits the shelves.
Unfortunately, this is more of an entry level device. It comes with Android 2.3(Gingerbread) and only has an 800MHz processor. The screen is a small 3.5″ which isn’t that big at all now days with devices now well over 5 inches.
The good news is that this device will be available on Virgin Mobile shelves starting in just 4 days, May 15th. The better news ? It’s available for pre-order right now! So if you are looking to get your onto a non-contract carrier and not looking to spend a lot of money on a device and one of your most wanted options is either Google Wallet or NFC support, I’d suggest heading over to the Virgin Mobile website and pre-ordering this device today.
